George Groom
George Groom Share "George Groom" on FacebookBorn in Luton in 1868, George played most of his football for Luton Excelsior and Luton Montrose with whom he won two Beds Senior Cup medals.
Called up by the Town on occasion to turn out in the many friendly games played by the club at the time, his only competitive appearance came at Tottenham in an FA Cup tie in December 1894, replacing the injured Hugh Galbraith at centre-forward in the 2-2 draw. Galbraith returned to the side for the replay.
George passed away in Luton in 1934.
