Gilbert Small Date of Birth: Aug 13, 1864 Share "Gilbert Small" on FacebookBorn in Clare, Suffolk in 1864, Tom played for Luton Rovers in the first recorded football match in the town in 1880. He also proposed at the meeting held in the Town Hall in April 1885 that a Town football club be formed.
A committee member at various intervals, a forward of skill during the club’s first four seasons and a player and committee member for Luton Town Cricket Club for many years, Tom also found time to work in the straw hat trade.
Tom passed away in Luton in 1922.
