Gordon Wilson
Gordon Wilson Date of Birth: Oct 1, 1936 Share "Gordon Wilson" on FacebookBorn in West Auckland, County Durham in 1904, Gordon was snapped up from local side Scotswood in 1926 by Hull City.
In five years at Anlaby Road he had the unenviable task of being understudy left-back to the legendary and injury free Matt Bell so made only 26 League appearances in that time.
Taking the opportunity to get some game time he came to Luton in the summer of 1931 but was frustrated to find himself behind Tommy Hodgson in the pecking order. Gordon proved to be a more than adequate full-back in the seven games he did manage in 1931-32 and was offered a new contract which he declined, deciding to try his luck at Norwich.
Making only two appearances in two years with the Canaries he had more fortune at Barrow before finishing his career at Linfield.
Gordon passed away in Newcastle in 1947.
