Harold Briggs

Born in Middlesbrough in 1904, Harold first made a name for himself at Darlington where he was spotted by a Luton scout and brought to Luton in October 1927 to take the place of the injured George Dennis on the left wing.

Harold’s two games ended in defeat and with Dennis recovering more quickly than originally thought he played in the reserves before moving on to Newark and from there back into the League with Hartlepool and Barrow, finishing his playing career at Crook Town.

Harold passed away in Middlesbrough in 1979.
