Harry Fryer
Harry Henry Fryer Date of Birth: Sep 26, 1897 Share "Harry Fryer" on FacebookBorn in Luton in 1897, Harry was the goalkeeper for the very successful Luton Clarence side from where he was occasionally called upon to deputise for the ‘professional’ in the Town’s ranks.
He made three Southern League appearances in 1920-21 which gave him the ambition to turn professional. With two keepers now ahead of him at Luton he joined Exeter who were looking for a replacement for the legendary Dick Pym who had been sold to Bolton.
Enjoying two seasons at St James’ Park he then had spells at Torquay and Halifax before hanging up his gloves, ambition fulfilled, and returning to Luton where he became a postman.
Harry passed away in 1975.
