Henri Lansbury

Henri Lansbury Date of Birth: Oct 12, 1990

Born Enfield, Greater London. Started out with Arsenal in 1999 and signed professionalin 2008. Only 3 first team appearances at Arsenal saw Henri loaned out Scunthorpe United (where he played in the 2009 JPT Final), Watford, Norwich City and West Ham. In 2012 he signed a 4 year deal with Championship (2nd tier) side Nottingham Forest. He became a regular in the first team and extended his contract for a year. Indecision over a further contract resulted in his transfer to Aston Villa in January 2016. It was not a happy union as he found himself down the pecking order and in three and a half years he played only 53 times. The 2020/21 Villa squad did not include Henri and in January 2021 he signed for Bristol City until the end of the season.

Nathan Jones came calling June 2021 saying - “He’s a fantastic midfield player, has had a wonderful career, been promoted from the division more than once, has played for some massive clubs and has real good pedigree.” He made his debut in the first game of the season against Peterborough United coming on from the bench in the 85th minute. He made his full debut 3 days later in a League Cup tie at Stevenage.

Henri made 44 appearances scoring one goal which was a 30 yard half volley away to Hull City. He did his lawnmower celebration for the goal - lawn mowing being his hobby and business outside football. The second season saw him in and out of the team until a serious thigh injury In October 2022. He began training again in January 2023 and struggled to get into the first team. Henri appeared as substitute against Preston and Hull City at home and retired in August 2023 at 32.

Henri had represented England at a number of age levels including 16 Under 21 caps scoring 5 goals between 2009 and 2013.
