Ian Hillier

Ian Michael Hillier Date of Birth: Dec 26, 1979

Welsh under-21 international Ian signed on as a youth trainee at Tottenham but could not make the breakthrough into the first team in three years at White Hart Lane.

Ian then decided to try his luck at Joe Kinnear’s Luton in 2001 and in his first campaign at Kenilworth Road he enjoyed an extended run and scored one of the goals of the season during a 2-1 win at York.

Extremely versatile, Ian could play almost anywhere in defence or midfield which became his undoing as he could not nail down a regular place in a set position after his bright start.

Following a loan spell at Chester, Ian joined Newport County and from there played for a succession of non-League clubs in Wales.
