Ivan Sharpe
Ivan Sharpe Date of Birth: Jun 15, 1889 Share "Ivan Sharpe" on FacebookBorn in St Albans in 1889, Ivan was an England amateur international who won a gold medal in the 1912 Stockholm Olympics combining his football with a career as an acclaimed sports journalist.
In his early playing years he had a spell at Luton, turning out for the reserves and received one first team call-up on the left wing in a Western League fixture at home to Reading in November 1907.
In later years Ivan played on the left wing in the Football League for Glossop, Derby and Leeds City, always picking his clubs near to where his journalistic profession took him.
Ivan passed away in Southport in 1968.
