Jack Lewis

Jack Lewis

Born in Gwersyllt near Wrexham he joined his local club in 1932 but it was not until 1935 that he became a regular in the side as an imposing centre-half.

Signed by the Town in February 1938 as ‘one for the future’ he was immediately given a first team start but in his second outing badly damaged an ankle and never regained full fitness.

Moving on to Crewe in August 1939 he played at the start of the truncated 1939-40 campaign but the War then ended his League career.

Jack was said to be turning out for Barmouth and Dyffryn United once hostilities had ceased.
