Jake Howells

Jake Howells Date of Birth: Apr 18, 1991

Local lad Jake Howells became a fans favourite at Kenilworth Road, playing in 334 senior games between 2008 and 2016, a feat that saw him remain among the club’s top 20 all-time appearance-makers around ten years later. Uniquely, Jake can claim to be the only player to pull on a Luton shirt before, during and after the club’s five-year spell at non-League level.

Born in St Albans, he debuted as a 17-year-old sub in the final game of 2007-8 at home to Huddersfield as we dropped into League Two following a en-point deduction. In his late teens he played a total of nine games for both England ‘C’ and the Welsh U-21 side. Playing at full-back or midfield, he became a classy and consistent performer for Luton, particularly at Conference level where he bagged 26 goals (he was often first-choice penalty-taker) and rarely missed a game.

Jake had a loan spell at Yeovil in 2015 and less than a year later departed for stints at various National League clubs, including Eastleigh and Dagenham & Redbridge.  After he hit 30, he moved into the business world with Foco Europe at Hemel Hempstead, supplier of
merchandise to clubs such as Paris SG and Bayern Munich.
