James Ayres
James Ayres Date of Birth: Sep 18, 1980 Share "James Ayres" on FacebookJames was born in Luton, and represented various local clubs, working his way up through the levels, starting with Luton Schools, and then Bedfordshire County before signing scholarship terms with Luton Town at the age of 14, during the 1994/95 while still attending Stopsley High School.
Signing professional terms at 18, James, a central defender, made his first team debut in December 1999, starting in a first round Football League Trophy loss to Oxford United during the 1999/00 season. He then went onto make another appearance in the Football League Trophy, also in the first round the next season, this time in a 1-0 loss to Peterborough United in December 2000. With breaking into the first team squad, being a challenge, James went on two separate loans to Stevenage Borough, before being released by at the conclusion of the 2000/01 season.
After being released by Luton Town, James played for Dagenham & Redbridge, Kettering Town, Enfield, Hitchin Town and then concluding his playing career with Braintree Town.
Post retirement James moved into the flooring industry, with James Ayres Flooring, based in Luton.
