James Monks
James Monks Date of Birth: Feb 8, 1878 Share "James Monks" on FacebookBorn in Chorley in 1878, James was a goalkeeper who had played professionally for Chorley and New Brighton before being signed by the Town in the summer of 1900, just as the club was going back to the Southern League once more.
Just like Fred Molyneux, James played the first two games of the 1900-01 season and then left the club – in James’ case this was back to Chorley.
In later life, James was a collier and then a fitters labourer in a motor works. He passed away in Chorley in 1948.
