James Wilkie Date of Birth: May 10, 1884 Share "James Wilkie" on FacebookBorn in Worcester in 1884, James was brought up in Birmingham and had played for the Blues reserves, Dulwich Hamlet and Chelsea reserves before joining the Town in the summer of 1913.
Said by the Club’s directors to be the ‘best outside-left in the game’ he was instrumental in setting up chances galore for Ernie Simms and Arthur Wileman but was badly injured in a game at home to Caerphilly in January 1914 and made only one more appearance that season.
Declining a new contract, James decided to go part-time and move to London while taking a degree course and also turning out occasionally for Brentford.
