Jaroslaw Fojut

Jaroslaw Fojut Date of Birth: Oct 17, 1987

Born just north of Warsaw in Legionowo, Poland, young centre-back Jaroslav arrived in the UK in 2004 and played one Premier League game for Bolton before joining Luton on a long loan in August 2007. He settled quickly and made 23 appearances in all competitions, notching three goals, before the club’s financial woes meant he had to return to his parent club.

A matter of days after Jaroslav half-volleyed the Hatters into an early lead at Port Vale in late December 2007, he departed the club to the great sadness of just about everybody concerned - apart from the official administrator of course.

His fine performance for Luton in a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest had caught the eye of Forest’s Neil Lennon, who later became Celtic manager and signed him for the Glasgow giants on a pre-contract basis, only for the deal to later collapse. Apart from one good season at Dundee United in 2014-15, most of the remainder of Jaroslav’s career was spent with Polish clubs.
