Jim Goldie

James Goldie Born: 29th June 1940 From:

Scottish forward Jim impressed in junior football with Gairdoch United and briefly joined Aston Villa in 1957 before returning to Scotland with Falkirk and Kilsyth Rangers. It was from this latter club that he was spotted by Luton manager Sam Bartram and he moved to Kenilworth Road in 1962.

Although scoring twice in seven Division Two games for the Hatters he was playing in a side doomed to relegation and joined York the following summer where he was relatively successful.

Joining the Metropolitan Police in 1966, Jim turned out for their Southern League side and also made his way up to Detective Sergeant. Now retired, Jim lives in New Malden.
