Jim Mackey
Jim Mackey Date of Birth: Nov 25, 1897 Share "Jim Mackey" on FacebookBorn in Ryton-on-Tyne in 1897, Jim lost a large part of his career due to the Great War but tried to make up for lost time by turning out for six League clubs as well as another seven in non-League well into his late thirties.
Coming to Luton in September 1924, with the reputation as a fast winger with an accurate cross, he started off as understudy to Sid Hoar but on winning a run in the side he failed to impress and gave way to Billy Thirlaway.
He left Luton in May 1925 to join Crewe where he was far more successful.
Jim passed away in 1990.
