Jim Pemberton

Jim Thomas Pemberton Date of Birth: Nov 14, 1925

Starting out with West Brom during the war years, utility man Jim then stepped down to non-League football with Stourbridge as he could earn far more at that level and it was closer to home.

Missing League football, the lure of an offer from Luton Town in 1947 was too good to refuse and so began a ten year spell at Kenilworth Road where Jim played in every position for the Hatters bar right wing and goalkeeper.

His ability to play almost anywhere meant that he could never claim a regular place in the side but he seemed to get more opportunities as the Town won promotion to the top flight in 1955.

Leaving for Kings Lynn in 1957, Jim remained in the area after hanging up his boots and worked at the docks. He continued to live there in retirement before sadly passing away in April 2010.
