James Strathie
James Strathie Date of Birth: Feb 12, 1913 Share "James Strathie" on FacebookBorn in Bean Cross, Falkirk in 1913, James starred for St Bernards who narrowly failed to win promotion to the Scottish First Division in 1936-37.
The Town’s Scottish scout alerted the club, leading to a move to Kenilworth Road in the summer of 1937. A tall, cultured centre-half James sadly made only two first team appearances over the next two seasons with one of them at full-back.
Accepting the inevitable, James moved to Northampton just as war broke out. He played in the three expunged games of 1939-40 and returned to the County Ground in 1946 but after one season moved on to Kettering.
James passed away in Hatfield in 1976.
