Jim Strathie
James William Strathie Born: 12th February 1913 From: Share "Jim Strathie" on FacebookBorn in Bean Cross, Falkirk in 1913, James starred for St Bernards who narrowly failed to win promotion to the Scottish First Division in 1936-37.
The Town’s Scottish scout alerted the club, leading to a move to Kenilworth Road in the summer of 1937. A tall, cultured centre-half James sadly made only two first team appearances over the next two seasons with one of them at full-back.
Accepting the inevitable, James moved to Northampton just as war broke out. He played in the three expunged games of 1939-40 and returned to the County Ground in 1946 but after one season moved on to Kettering.
James passed away in Hatfield in 1976.
