Jimmy Drinnan

James McKay Drinnan Date of Birth: May 28, 1906

Born in Harthill, Scotland in 1906, Jimmy was picked up by Bristol City in 1923 after playing local junior football but failed to make the grade there and so began a tour of Welsh clubs before accepting a move to Brentford in 1927.

A small inside forward, who was a maker rather than taker of goals, moved on to Luton in 1929 where he enjoyed a good season linking up well with Jimmy Yardley and Andy Rennie.

His form earned him a surprise move to Second Division Burnley in 1930 but it proved a step too far and he drifted off to Worcester City.

Jimmy passed away in London in 1936, aged only 30.
