JJ O'Donnell

Jonathan O'Donnell Date of Birth: Oct 29, 1991

Edgware born JJ joined the Hatters in 2009 & made his debut in 2010 during an FA Cup replay win against Corby Town. He would only feature for Luton in cup competitions until 2012, when he became a regular first-team squad member under Paul Buckle. He made 51 appearances in all competitions for Luton, scoring 3 goals, but is best remembered for his incredible run half the length of the pitch to cross for Scott Rendell's goal in Luton's giant-killing victory away at Premier League Norwich City in the FA Cup 4th Round.

After being released by Luton, JJ joined Gateshead, where he had featured on loan & scored the goal in the Play-Off Semi-Finals that took them to Wembley in 2014.In 2015 JJ was diagnosed with Sesamoiditis which caused inflammation in the bones under his big toe, a condition that almost forced JJ into retirement. However, two Gateshead fans set up a Gofundme page to pay for his operation, to which many Luton fans contributed to, which JJ expressed his gratitude for.

JJ continued in the game, playing for Gateshead & Blyth Spartans in his later career, whilst also setting up his own football academy.
