Joe Daly Date of Birth: Dec 28, 1897 Share "Joe Daly" on FacebookBorn in Lancaster in 1897, Joe, the son of an army officer, was educated privately in Ireland and was playing for Cliftonville when he was picked up by Notts County.
Six years at Meadow Lane and one at Northampton was followed by a move to the Town in the summer of 1928. Regarded as the fastest winger in the south, Joe was an expert crosser of the ball at speed and was virtually ever present until he suffered ill-health towards the end of his second season at Kenilworth Road.
He decided to retire but did make a come-back at Gillingham although played no first-team games there. Joe returned to Nottingham and played local football before passing away in that City in 1941.
