The younger sibling of Andy, Joe was born in Bailliston in 1905 and was playing for Maryhill Hibernian when he was asked to come to Luton in the summer of 1933 on the recommendation of his brother.
A useful defender, he found the transition from Scottish junior football to the Football League tough and made only four appearances, replacing the injured Charlie Fraser, before returning to his former club.
