John William Harold Day Date of Birth: Sep 16, 1882 Share "John Day" on FacebookBorn in Sutton-on-Trent in 1882, John was a goalkeeper who had enjoyed a good spell with Gainsborough in the Football League after spells at Newark and Notts County.
Joining the newly relegated Town from Lincoln in 1912, when the club was at a low ebb, he made only three appearances before being replaced by Henry Abbott.
John decided to return to Nottinghamshire to continue his first class cricketing career before passing away in Saxilby, Lincs in 1949.
