John Dreyer

John Dreyer Date of Birth: Jun 10, 1963

A versatile defender and midfield player, John or ‘Tumble’ as he was affectionately known, almost perfected the one step penalty kick while at Kenilworth Road until warned off by manager David Pleat. It was also reckoned that the nets above the boxes were put up for his benefit!

Starting his professional career with Oxford, John came to Luton in June 1988 in exchange for £140,000 and became a regular in the side for six seasons before moving to Stoke under freedom of contract.

Further moves to Bradford City and Cambridge followed before he dropped down into non-League and then became manager of Maidenhead United.

John subsequently became assistant manager at Rushden, Stevenage, Preston and Oldham.
