John Murphy
John Murphy Date of Birth: Apr 9, 1888 Share "John Murphy" on FacebookBorn in Dublin in 1886, John was an experienced inside forward who had played for Shelbourne and Bradford City, picking up three Irish caps along the way.
Fighting off a host of clubs the Town signed him in September 1912 just as they were about to sample Southern League Division Two football for the first time.
In a season beset by minor injuries, John still managed 20 appearances in all competitions but was not retained at the season’s end and moved back to Ireland with Shamrock Rovers.
