John Paul Kissock

John Paul Kissock Date of Birth: Dec 2, 1989

Born in Fazackerley, Lancashire. A busy, creative midfielder, John started out at Everton youth but struggled to settle down until he signed permanently for Southport of the Conference in 2010. He impressed in his 24 appearances scoring 4 goals. The start of the following season saw Luton sign him permanently in a deal which saw Godfrey Poku and Dan Walker sign on loan for the Sandgrounders.

The Town fans took to his busy attacking style, always looking to make something happen going forward. He made his mark in an early game as a substitute against Lincoln City at Kenilworth Road. The Town were down to ten men, and John took a quick short corner, and went on a run to lay the only goal of the game on a plate for Stuart Fleetwood.

A fall out with manager Gary Brabin in January 2012 was negated by a management change with Paul Buckle coming in. He was in and out of the first eleven for the rest of the season. His last game was as a substitute in the play off final defeat to York City at Wembley.

In the Summer of 2012 John was loan out to Macclesfield Town, a deal which was made permanent in January with Arnaud Mendy coming the other way. A brief spell on loan at Oldham was followed by spells at Whitehawk twice, Ebbsfleet United, Welling, back at Southport and Telford United. His last club was Whitehawk where he was player assistant manager for the 2019/20 season but the commute from Liverpool proved too much. John retired to concentrate on working for his brother's property business.
