Keith Barber

Keith Barber Date of Birth: Sep 21, 1947

Although born in Luton, Keith was spotted by the Hatters while playing local football in London and signed professional forms in April 1971.

A brave goalkeeper, Keith shared duties in the early part of his Luton career but soon made the position his own and was virtually always first choice until sustaining a bad chest injury at Notts County in November 1976.

When he returned to fitness he could not unseat his replacement Milija Aleksic and so joined Swansea. It was while on loan at Cardiff that he made his final League appearance, deciding to hang up his gloves after a 1-7 defeat at Kenilworth Road!

Becoming a Newmarket resident for many years, Keith worked for a racecourse starting stalls firm but now lives in Olney in retirement.
