Lewis Price

Lewis Price Date of Birth: Jul 19, 1984

Born Bournemouth, Dorset. Lewis will forever be fondly remembered by Town fans for his penalty save in the 2008/09 Johnstone Paint Trophy competition. The second leg against Brighton at Kenilworth Road had ended evens so penalties were taken to decide which club would play at Wembley. A diving one handed save by Lewis caused bedlam amongst Luton fans after the awful minus 30 point deduction.

That was his only game for the Town as, although on a one month loan from Derby County, he suffered a groin injury.

Lewis had started at Southampton’s academy but joined Ipswich in 2011. He made his debut in the top tier in the 2003/04 season and then stayed for 3 more seasons in the Championship (2nd tier). After 75 appearances and a loan period at Cambridge United, Lewis signed for Derby County in 2007. Unable to break into the first team very much, loans to MK Dons, Luton and Brentford followed.

On to Crystal Palace for 3 seasons and just 16 games, Lewis moved to Sheffield Wednesday in 2015. Just 7 games that season saw a move to Rotherham United where he made 29 appearances in 5 seasons. Following retirement, Lewis became a goal keeping coach for Bournemouth and MK Dons.
