Luke Bolton

Luke Philip Bolton Date of Birth: Oct 7, 1999

Stockport born, right back Luke Bolton joined Manchester City's academy and progressed through their ranks, participating in the U21s EFL Trophy campaign in the 2018/19 season, as well as having been named in the Manchester City Champions League squad, as well as being named on their matchday squad benches multiple times that season.

Due to the first team breakthrough being hard to come by, what with Manchester City being free and easy with the chequebook, Luke made a series of loan moves to gain first team football experience. Bolton initially spent the second half of the 2018/19 season at Wycombe, before joining Graeme Jones' Hatters on deadline day at the beginning of the 2019/20 season. Making his debut in the first round League Cup 3-1 win against Ipswich.

Luke was part of a leaky backline that season, which saw few wins and many goals conceded, with the season halted due to the covid-19 pandemic, After playing one game, as a substitute, following the resumption of the season, with new manager Nathan Jones citing it was Luke and Manchester City who had decided to terminate the loan. Therefore Luke returned to his parent club and Luton Town would go on to complete one of the greatest survival escapes in Championship history.

Luke went out on loan for a final time as a Manchester City player, this time to Dundee United for the 2020/21 season. Upon his return to Manchester, he was released, signing for League 2 Salford City ahead of the 2022/23 season, before signing for League 2 rivals Wrexham, helping the Dragons in securing their back to back promotions, this time to League 1 upon the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.
