Luke Trotman

Born in Luton, a right back and right wing back, Luke came up through the academy at Luton. He overcame a double leg break to impress John Still enough to be offered a professional contract in 2014. John Still said at the time - “It’s difficult not to be impressed with the attitude and application of Luke. The injury has only served to make him mentally stronger which is an important characteristic in any player. Luke is a very good player, too, and he has already shown me in the time that I have been at the club, what an intelligent and athletic defender he is.”

Unfortunately for Luke, his rise coincided with the Conference Championship season when competition for places was fierce. He played in one first team game, an F.A. Trophy loss at home to Cambridge United in January 2014. A move to St. Neots was followed by Nuneaton while Luke was studying at Loughborough University. He joined Darlington in November 2017 and impressed so much that he gained two England C caps.

He later appeared in the TV Show “Love Island.”
