Marc North

Marc Victor North Date of Birth: May 29, 1966

Ware born Marc joined Luton from school and was the Hatters goalkeeper as they reached the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup in 1983.

Deciding he preferred the life of a striker, he hung up his gloves with his first taste of League football coming whilst on loan at Lincoln, for whom he later played in the Bradford City fire disaster match.

Back at Kenilworth Road he went on to make 18 league appearances, scoring three goals, before moving to Grimsby in 1987 where he earned a more regular place. Two years later he joined up again with his old Luton boss David Pleat at Leicester .

He later had an unsuccessful trial back at Luton before injury forced his retirement. Marc passed away at the age of 35 in September 2001.
