Marc Wilson

Marc Wilson Date of Birth: Aug 17, 1987

Irish midfielder Marc joined Luton on loan from Premiership side Portsmouth in the autumn of 2007. Within days of his Hatters debut – a goalless draw at   Walsall - the club was put into administration by chairman David Pinkney. It soon became clear there were barely enough funds to pay Marc’s hotel bills, let alone everybody’s wages, and he returned to Fratton Park after just a month.

Aged 20, he made a total of four League One appearances patrolling Town’s midfield, during which only two goals were conceded. He later played at a higher level for Stoke, Bournemouth, Sunderland and Bolton, his career total of 341 senior games ending in 2022. Born in County Antrim, he won 25 full caps for the Republic of Ireland.
