Mickey Weir

Michael Graham Weir Date of Birth: Jan 16, 1966

Micky joined his local club, Hibernian, from school and after working his way up through the ranks at Easter Road embarked on a long time infatuation with the club and its supporters.

Already a terrace favourite at Hibs, the 21 year old was not happy when contract terms broke down leading to a tribunal set £230,000 move to Luton in 1987.

A classic Scottish winger, Luton fans never saw the best of him although he did score the goal at Wigan that set the Town up on their road to Wembley in the 1987/88 Littlewoods Cup. Four months after signing for Luton the homesick Scot returned to Hibs to resume what was to become a long career which only ended when he took on a coaching role at Motherwell.
