Morris Stevenson

Morris John Stevenson Date of Birth: Apr 16, 1943

When Luton Town entertained Morton in a friendly in October 1968 it transpired that all the Scottish team members were in the shop window. The Hatters were impressed with inside-forward Morris leading to him signing for £5,000 a month later.

Morris made his League debut in a 0-1 defeat at Hartlepool in December 1968 but the following week manager Allan Brown was dismissed with the new man at the helm, Alec Stock, wanting his own men at the club.

Morris remained at Kenilworth Road as a squad player until 1970 when he joined Dundee United. He enjoyed three years at Tannadice before ligament damage left him on crutches for nine months and with it the end of his career.

After working as a driver for a Tranent, East Lothian candle firm for 30 years, Morris took early retirement in 2006 due to ill health and sadly passed away in 2014.
