Paul Carden

Paul Andrew Carden Date of Birth: Mar 29, 1979

Liverpool-born Paul initially joined Luton on-loan from Cambridge United in February 2011, teaming with former Cambridge manager Gary Brabin, who was assistant manager at the time. Paul had previously played for the likes of Blackpool, Rochdale, Chester City & Peterborough United in a career that had spanned almost 15 years before joining Luton.

Paul would go on to make 11 appearances for Luton, with the Hatters only losing once in that spell. He made his full debut in an away 1-1 draw at Newport County, making nine further appearances in the 2010-11 season, including an away draw at parent club Cambridge United, despite still technically being the Cambridge United assistant manager at the time.

After being released by Cambridge in the summer of 2011, Carden rejoined Luton as player-coach, now under the management of Gary Brabin, however Paul would only feature once in a 2-2 draw at Ebbsfleet in the 2011-12 season. Carden was released from his coaching contract in January 2013.

Since leaving Luton, Paul moved into management, with a caretaker spell at Tranmere Rovers as well as permanent spells at Southport, Warrington Town and AFC Telford United. He was appointed manager of Nantwich Town in February 2023.
