Pavel Besta
Pavel Besta Date of Birth: Sep 2, 1982 Share "Pavel Besta" on FacebookPavel Besta joined the Hatters in the summer of 2010 alongside fellow Czech Zdenek Kroca, with Besta impressing during a pre-season friendly against a Newcastle United XI. Prior to joining Luton, Pavel had spent seven years at hometown club Banik Ostrava with spells at Viktoria Zizkov and Ruzomberok, as well as featuring for the Czech Republic U-21's.
Besta played six times in August & September for the Hatters, making his debut as a late substitute for Adam Murray in a 3-1 victory at Kettering Town, making his first start four days later in a 3-0 victory at Fleetwood Town. However, his stay at Kenilworth Road was not a happy one, and his last start came in a 3-1 defeat at Tamworth. After being substituted after giving away the ball for the second goal, some comments from the away section prompted an angry confrontation between them and Richard Money in one of the darkest days of Luton's spell in the fifth-tier of English football.
After two more substitute appearances in the league and three FA Trophy starts, Besta was released in January 2011 and played out the rest of his playing career in his native Czech Republic.
