Percy Hill

Percy Hill

Born in Luton in 1895, Percy was a talented inside-forward who played for Luton Clarence and also turned out for the Town in the South Eastern (reserve) League.

Signing professional forms for the Town during the 1919-20 season he was a regular towards the end of that campaign but found the going tough in 1920-21, with the Town back in the Football League and made only three appearances all in defence.

The fans thought the local boy deserved a place in the side so they were put out when he was allowed to move to Exeter where he did not fare well, nor at his subsequent stops at Torquay or Chatham Town.

Percy passed away in Luton in 1970.
