Peter Stone

Peter was almost 30 when he was thrust in to the Luton Town first team for his one and only Football League appearance in February 1952.

Signed as an amateur for the Hatters from Oxford City, Peter made several impressive appearances for the reserve side before being given the opportunity at centre-half replacing the injured Syd Owen in a home Division Two clash with Hull which finished 1-1.

With Owen fit to return the following week it was back to the reserves for Peter who eventually moved on to Worcester and then back to Oxford City.

Peter returned to Oxford after retiring from the game and passed away in 2011.
