Ralph Chapman
Ralph Chapman Date of Birth: Apr 23, 1888 Share "Ralph Chapman" on FacebookWembley born in 1888, Ralph came to the attention of the Town scouts while skippering Bedford Town.
He signed, initially on amateur forms, in 1908 and turned out for the reserves before being given a chance at right-back in the first team, a position he did not relinquish until he suffered a bad injury at home to Southend in January 1911.
After recovery, he made only one further first team appearance before joining Bedford Queens Works.
It was reckoned that his full back partnership with Edward Potts was the best in the Southern League.
