Raphael Meade

Raphael Joseph Meade Date of Birth: Nov 22, 1962

Nomadic striker Raphael started off conventionally with Arsenal and worked his way up through the ranks before making over 40 League appearances for the Gunners as a fleet-footed and powerful striker but he was never able to command a regular place at Highbury and so made the surprise move to Sporting Lisbon in 1985.

He came back to these islands to join Dundee United in 1988 before a £250,000 transfer to Luton in March 1989. He only managed four appearances at Kenilworth Road, without pulling up any trees before being offloaded to Odense as part of the deal that brought Lars Elstrup to Luton.

Since then Raphael played in Hong Kong, and for several clubs in England finishing up at Sittingbourne.
