Robert Ellingham

Born in Luton in 1863, Robert played for Luton Wanderers from 1881 as a forward and scored the first ever FA Cup goal for a Luton team for Wanderers against the Old Etonians in 1884.

Robert continued to play for Wanderers after the Town club was formed and scored for them in an FA Cup tie against Chesham in October 1885. Switching to the Town in 1886, Richard netted the club’s first ever FA Cup goal in a 3-1 defeat against Hotspur in October of that year.

Robert passed away in Bradford in 1926.
