Robert Moir

Robert Moir Date of Birth: May 10, 1904

Born in Glasgow in 1904, Robert was a big centre-half who had turned out for Morton and St Johnstone before coming south to join Clapton.

Reputed to be on holiday in Luton, he asked for a trial and was given a contract in May 1926. He played only one game, a 2-1 defeat at Southend in September 1926, before deciding that reserve team football was not for him and returning to Glasgow where he joined the Police.

Robert passed away in 1955.
