Robert Vickers

Born in Edinburgh in 1871, Richard was one of the many Scots who ventured south in the 1890’s coming to Luton from St Bernards in 1893 via Barnsley,

Richard was a strong wing-half who turned out in some of the friendly fixtures organised in 1893-94 in this, the season before the Town entered the Southern League,

Richard was called before the committee on several occasions because his form had dropped but it became apparent that he was carrying an injury. He played one competitive game in the FA Cup that season and returned north at the season’s end.
