Robson Campbell

Robson Campbell Date of Birth: Oct 20, 1919

Born in Pegswood, Northumberland, Robson came south on leaving school to join a ‘well known drapery firm in London’.

It was while turning out for the Ravensbourne club that he was spotted by the Town and invited to Kenilworth Road in 1937 where he continued to progress through the ‘A’ team to the reserves and was on the brink of a first team call-up when War broke out.

A tall and imposing wing-half, Robson continued to turn out for the Town intermittently during the War years and played in the two FA Cup ties against Derby in 1945-46 but was released at the end of that season.
