Samuel Farrant
Samuel Farrant Date of Birth: May 27, 1885 Share "Samuel Farrant" on FacebookBorn in Bristol in 1885, Samuel was a prolific goalscorer in his youth and ended up playing for City reserves before a surprise move to Stockport in 1905 took him north.
It did not work out at Edgeley Park but a subsequent move to Workington proved the making of him as he scored goals for fun and attracted a number of scouts.
Luton beat all the opposition for his signature in 1907 but, sadly, his time at Luton was a failure as he made only three appearances in the Southern League side in 1907-08 before an equally unsuccessful spell at Coventry.
Samuel eventually emigrated to South Africa.
