Scott Griffiths

Scott Griffiths Date of Birth: Nov 27, 1985

Born Westminster, England. Started at Southend United’s youth system before signing for Aveley as a 17 year old. Dagenham and Redbridge came calling and Scott spent 6 years there amassing 231 games and 4 goals in the Conference and League Two. He played twice for England C while a Conference player with the Daggers.

Some of his final season with the Daggers was spent on loan at Peterborough United. A three and a half year contract was agreed in January 2010. Scott fell out of favour later that year and was sent out on loan to Chesterfield, Crawley Town, Chesterfield again, Rotherham United and Plymouth Argyle.

John Still, his former manager at Dagenham came to his rescue in March 2013 when he signed a short term contract with the Hatters. He impressed so was given a one year extension. Scott played in every single Conference game of the 2013/14 season when the Town were promoted to the Football League as Champions. Another contract extension followed but when John Still was sacked, the new manager Nathan Jones sent him on loan to Woking. His contract was not renewed.

Scott later said - “I wanted to finish my career at Luton and would have happily stayed there. I have such good memories of good people.” Walking away from football, Scott became a self employed plasterer living close to forest Green’s New Lawn ground.
