Scott Oakes

Scott Oakes Date of Birth: Aug 5, 1972

After being nursed through the junior sides at his hone town club Leicester, Scott was whisked away by Luton manager David Pleat in October 1991 as part of the deal that took Steve Thompson to Filbert Street.

Breaking into the Hatters top flight side almost immediately, Scott put in some mature performances as an attacking midfielder that belied his 19 years. It was two years later, though, that Scott came to national prominence as his goals, which included a hat-trick against West Ham in the 6th round, fired the Town to the FA Cup semi-finals.

With Luton relegated in 1996, Scott was snapped up once more by David Pleat who was now at Sheffield Wednesday but the move proved an injury punctuated mistake leading to spells at Cambridge, Leyton Orient and St Albans.

Scott subsequently ran a courier business with some of his old Luton playing colleagues.
