Seamus Dunne

Seamus Dunne Date of Birth: Apr 13, 1930

After a glittering youth career in his native Ireland, Seamus was playing for Shelbourne when the Hatters managed to snap up his services from under the noses of a host of bigger clubs.

After one season in the reserves he earned his first team debut on Boxing Day 1951 and from then went on to break the 300 appearance barrier for his only league club. A fast and strong right back he became a fixture in the Town side for ten years and picked up 15 caps for his country.

After finally leaving Kenilworth Road, Seamus played for three years at Yiewsley and was then player/manager at Dunstable whilst working at Vauxhall.

In 1970 a chance to move back to Ireland to work in a chemical plant was too good to turn down. Seamus lived in retirement in Bray before passing away in 2016.
