Seamus Heath

Seamus Heath Date of Birth: Dec 6, 1961

Born Belfast, Northern Ireland. A room mate of Mal Donaghy while an amateur in Northern Ireland, Seamus arrived at Kenilworth Road in April 1979. A wide left forward, he stayed for three years but only made one first team appearance. He stood in for David Moss at home to Reading in the League Cup on the 2nd September 1980. The match report said that - “Heath did more than enough to show that his growing promise is an asset to a club which has too often struggled with the bare necessities of a league squad.” Regrettably for Seamus, the squad just needed a bit of tweaking to be Champions of the second tier the following season and he moved on.

Spells at Tranmere Rovers and Wrexham was followed by a move back to Northern Ireland with Portadown, Glentoran twice, Distillery, Derry City and Cliftonville. There were also two spells in Finland. Retirement and Youth Development at Glenavon followed and he was involved in the Northern Ireland Under 19 side. In March 2018 Seamus was announced as manager of Aberystwyth Town but only lasted until August. Last know to be manager of Warrenpoint Under 21’s.
