Stanley Arthur Coote Date of Birth: May 7, 1909 Share "Stanley Coote" on FacebookDescribed as a ‘lusty, fearless full-back with a strong kick’ Stan, who was born in Harpenden in 1909, was signed on by the Town from local club Arden Wednesday in 1932.
Despite playing many games for the reserves he only got one first team chance, in the final day 0-3 defeat at Crystal Palace in May 1933.
Eventually transferred to Reading for £300 in 1935, he was moved to centre-half but only made six first team appearances at Elm Park.
After hanging up his boots, Stan returned to his previous trade as a butcher and passed away in Warlingham in 1977.
